28 JUN — 23 JUL
This film programme traces a sensitive cartography across different emotional, political and artistic geographies. From concerns surrounding the relationship between humanity and the living world to calls for peace and resistance to war, the films also explore themes such as childhood, artistic creation and the marks left by political systems on individual and collective lives.
The nights at Teatro de Palha open with the music and call for peace of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in “One to One: John & Yoko” and close with the vibrant batuku rhythms of Orlando Pantera. In between, cinema becomes a space of encounter between the intimate and the collective, between memory and what we are still learning how to imagine.
