*SCHEDULE CHANGE. Due to technical issues inherent to the presentation of the performance Terminal (O Estado do Mundo), the start time has been changed to 8:30 pm.
"Terminal" points to an idea of the end. Still, it also points to an idea of the interface, the connection to another dimension, another language. If, on the one hand, we want to focus on the concept of the death of a particular vision of humanity that can be found everywhere in the devastation of nature - that shameless celebration of man while everything burns - we also want to cross the "terminal" into the future, trying to glimpse a new cosmogony that is emerging because of the threat of human extinction.
Four actors and two musicians inhabit this terminal and tell us their story before the end comes. They are all looking for a way out. While they invent it, the end of the world is postponed.
What will we do when everything burns down?
On the first day, after the performance, the documentary "Improváveis de Costas Voltadas" will be screened, produced during the research process that Formiga Atómica carried out over the last year to create this show, which also took in Aljezur, Odemira and Monchique. A series of challenges thrown at two unexpected conversationalists, directed by the duo JUNO.
“Terminal (O Estado do Mundo)” is the second show in a diptych about the climate crisis. The series began in 2021 with The State of the World (When You Wake Up) and was preceded by extensive research in the area throughout 2023.
