PARAÍSO is back in the form of a single show/dinner, a fusion of dance, music and food – food for thought, after its premiere in September. This project was born in Sabóia and carries a heritage: the wisdom of making the best of lives from what is lacking, what is not, what is there and not: water, food, work, money. Scarcity as a form of wealth and the certainty of how living with little can make the greatest sense. It results from a unique meeting with older people from Sabóia, Santa Clara-a-Velha in the Odemira mountains, young people who also live there and a group of artists and cooks.
We will dance to offer the feeling of a shifting earth that won't settle or rest. It's the serving of a meal that always brings water to the surface; there will be talking close to people and music, sounds and singing that flood the space with meanings crossed by contradiction but also by mutuality, hospitality, symbiosis, and partnership. We will all be in a relationship with food, thought, action and sound. It will be as if we were sitting at the table of a great table that doesn't exist. The impression of living in a torrential zone will emerge from this atmosphere.
