EscolaNova once again joins the Festa da Aldeia da Bordeira with a free programme for the whole family.

Throughout the afternoon, imagination, music and tradition come together in two very different events: Abrir Mundos, a creation by Madalena Victorino and Matilde Tudela inviting audiences to discover stories through everyday objects; and Adufeiras em Flor, a concert that revisits Portuguese traditional singing through the rhythmic and symbolic power of the adufe.

An afternoon to imagine, sing, discover and celebrate together.

Abrir mundos

Inside a circular cabinet of curiosities, objects are transformed into stories, landscapes and characters. In the palm of a hand lie forests, cities, animals and entire worlds, ready to be imagined and reinvented by everyone who takes part.

Abrir Mundos invites children and adults alike to explore the power of imagination through play, storytelling and object manipulation, in an encounter where every discovery can spark a new story.

Adufeiras em Flor

Adufeiras em Flor revisits Portuguese traditional singing accompanied by the adufe, on a musical journey that weaves together memory, intercultural dialogue and contemporary artistic expression.

Women from different backgrounds unite their voices with the powerful rhythms of this ancestral instrument to celebrate cultural diversity, the land and the meeting of traditions. Alternating moments of great intensity with collective celebration, the performance becomes a contemporary ritual echoing feminine strength, identity and the joy of being alive.

An ancestral call through the sound of the sacred drum - a celebration of life, the earth and the strength of women.
