We regret what happened, but we understand that this measure had to be taken, since we are facing preventive emergency state that concerns us all.

We remind and reinforce the need to closely monitor and follow the indications of national and international health authorities, in order to contain the virus in the best possible way.

We should staying away from each other like never before, so as not to let the virus plow, but at the same time come together as never before in this mission that belongs to everyone.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

The Lavrar o Mar team
Walks with Art consists in a proposal of 17 different walks (10 in Aljezur and 7 in Monchique). Each path and each conversation will have a theme that will be lead by a different speaker, who will take a group of 15 people to dive into his/her universe and into the stunning landscape of the Western Algarve. There will be conversations about disciplines as diverse as journalism, climate activism, literature, beekeeping, photography, food, art and history, among others.

Each person should choose the speaker/path she wants to take, taking into account the particularities of each one (theme, degree of difficulty, distance, duration, language) in the moment of the ticket’s purchase.

In the end, the different groups will converge to the same place, to have a late lunch together. A time to celebrate and share experiences.

THEME
A journey through the memory and history of southwestern Portuguese lands. The group will remember the times when this place was considered the end of the world, and the people who were kidnapped to be sold as slaves in North Africa. The Algarve, especially this western corner, was for a long time abandoned, particularly after the 1755 earthquake. From here many stories can be unfolded and can lead us to the present, to the contemporary world, and also to the spring equinox and, who knows, Stravinsky.
